We're a software products company whose products (BuildMaster and ProGet) are built for development organizations. This means that our customers and end-users are not just developers, but passionate developers who want to change their company for the better. It's a sophisticated and enthusiastic audience, and we need developers who are up to the challenge of working in this space.
If you're looking for that job where you can put in your seven or eight hours, then go home and do some real coding... then this opportunity may not be for you. The problems we solve are mentally exhausting, and you will think about them as you drive home, as you sleep, and as you shower in the morning. And they're not just code-related challenges, but things like "how can we get more users to properly use imported deployables?" All job descriptions say they're looking for "problem solvers", but we really mean it. There are no Q&A sites to help us with the problems we're trying to solve: we're on our own out here, and we need developers who can blaze trails with us. It's a big challenge, a tremendous amount of fun, and a lot of hard work.
With that out of the way, we're looking for a .NET Developer to work out of our Berea, Ohio offices (sorry, no telecommuting for this position) whose bullet points are a close match with our bullet points:
- Solid experience in the following:
- .NET Development: ASP.NET, Windows Service
- SQL Server: Queries, T-SQL Code (i.e. Stored Procs)
- First-hand experience with a variety of development methodologies (i.e. Agile to Waterfall)
- Familiarity with tools & technologies outside of the Microsoft stack
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Self-management and ability to lead others
- Willingness for occasional travel (conferences, customer visits)
We're pretty flexible with regards to the years and level of experience... though this position would probably be a better fit for those with at least 2 years experience. Bonus points for a solid understanding of what our products do.
