BuildMaster may be installed using either an automated Windows installer or
through manual configuration and deployment of its components.
BuildMaster System Requirements

meets all of the following prerequisites:

Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP
- .NET Framework: 2.0
- Optional: IIS 6.0 or newer with management console installed
- Optional: SQL Server 2005 (or newer) database instance
Minimum Hardware Requirements
The hardware requirements for BuildMaster are similar to those recommended by Microsoft for the .NET Framework and may be run
on a virtual server as long as the following minimum requirements are met:
- Processor: 1 GHz
- RAM: 512 MB
- Free Disk Space: 1 GB, extra for artifact storage
BuildMaster Agent Installation
In order to maximize the integration with regard to automated deployment, a BuildMaster agent
should be installed on a remote server. The system requirements for the agent are the same as those for BuildMaster.
For installation instructions, visit the Windows Agent Installation section.
Alternatively, there is an SSH-based
agent that can perform underlying file operations (transfer, writing, deleting, etc.)
using the SFTP protocol. For some BuildMaster installations, this option is preferable because
it does not require an agent to be installed on the remote server, but it does require that SSH
is installed and enabled along with an SFTP server.
For a comparison of the different agent types available for BuildMaster along with which one works best for your installation,
see our Knowledge Base article on the subject.
