LDAP Integration
Principals (i.e. users and groups) can either be defined within ProGet, or ProGet can use an LDAP source (e.g. Active Directory) for these principals. In both cases, privileges must be defined to allow the desired principals access to ProGet, but with LDAP integration there are two important benefits:
- Integrated Authentication – users' web browsers can automatically log them into ProGet using their Windows username without needing to type in a separate password
- Use Existing Groups – instead of needing to manage yet another account for users, you can use existing LDAP groups to determine which principals have privileges to ProGet
LDAP Integration can be configured in ProGet under the administration section.
