Do you have an example of how to implement the ODataAdapterBase class to programatically alter the Url of the returned packages?

Unfortunately not, but this would be a great place to post it if you are able to get it working! :)
But before you do that, check under Advanced Settings to see if modifying the Base Odata URL field will solve the problem you're looking for.
