How to restore previous proxy setting



  • My NuGet proxy feed was appearing empty so I tried to update the proxy settings of the server.

    Now the server is not reachable at all. Is there a way to restore the proxy setting without the web interface?

  • Changing the Proxy setting will not impact the website availability; only the connectors. I would make sure the service is still running, or AppPool if using IIS.



  • You are right, the service was down, it seems only to crash with my proxy settings. In the windows event log I see this:

    Application: ProGet.Service.exe
    Framework Version: v4.0.30319
    Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
    Exception Info: System.UriFormatException



  • So is there a way to restore the proxy settings without using the web page? The server won't boot up now that the setting is wrongly formatted ...



  • Ah, that is a bug; we will have to fix that.

    But in the mean time, the best way to do this is to go in the [Configuration] table, and delete the "Proxy." rows.



  • I installed the "built-in" version of SQL server, does it install a viewer at the same time?

    Do you have any info on how to access the database?

  • You could install the SQL Tools, but there may be a osql.exe installed that you could have command-line access to.
