Is there a way to limit the number of active releases displayed on the homepage? Our list is growing so long that it takes forever, and our browsers ask us if we want to stop the javascript.

Hi-

We recently updated our proget server (we love the product btw) from 3.2.1 to 3.7.6. I updated our old existing feed to the "new style" v3.3 feed via the "easy" way recommended in the docs. After an IIS reset, everything seemed fine, with the exception of permissions, which retained the users and customized groups from our old install, but did not seem to carry over the privileges associated with the groups. I rebuilt the privileges and ran into a problem:

When we push via nuget.exe (including the API key that is specced for the feed), we are prompted for credentials. This is normal so far. After supplying valid credentials for an account that is in a group with "Feeds_AddPackage" priveleges, we get the error:

Failed to process request. 'There was an error processing the request: You are not authorized to add a package to this feed. By default, ProGet is not configured to allow unauthenticated users to publish packages to a feed. You will need to either authenticate (by using "name:pass" as your API Key) or give the Anonymous User the Feeds_AddPackage privilege.'.

We don't want to give any permissions to anonymous users, and we're fine with both supplying the api key and being prompted for credentials (it's how our pushes worked before with the old version). If I give invalid credentials, it keeps prompting me, so it must be authenticating me at some point. The account in question can push via the website UI, so the permissions seem to be in place. I also tried with our admin account and got the same error.

Any idea about what could be wrong here?

thanks in advance!

We have ProGet deployed and are occasionally getting errors when packages are being downloaded, especially if multiple members of my team are restoring packages for a solution at the same time. We've hosted ProGet in IIS, so I have enabled Failed Request Tracing and noticed that a NullReferenceException occurs. Any clues on how we might fix this? We haven't been able to detect any particular pattern in when we get these errors, although it seems to occur more often when more members of my team are downloading packages at the same time.

I've uploaded the Failed Request Trace here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23379493/FailedRequestTrace.zip

How to work with Oneget and Oneget Repository from Proget?
Is there any documentation or tutorial?

We really love using ProGet, especially now that it supports NPM and Maven. The last piece of the puzzle for us is Ruby Gem support. Is this on the roadmap? I didn't see explicit mention of it on the roadmap.

Thanks!

We are on the Free version of 3.7.6 and recently started getting a Severe Error about the license but when I tried to login with any admin privileged account it wouldn't login.
Then I tried using the Admin password reset but that is also not working, it says it resets the password but still fails to login.

I noticed that if you try to load the ProGet page from a browser that supports integrated Windows authentication, but the currently logged on user does not have access to ProGet, the ProGet logon page is displayed, but will reject any valid credentials entered.

How do I configure the MSBuild action to compile C# code built with Visual Studio 2015?
When I build with BuildMaster, I see errors like error CS1056: Unexpected character '$' which I would expect, because the $"string {interpolation}" syntax along with other new C# 6 features are not recognized in older versions of MSBuild.

Hello.

I use nuget only with native (c++ and coApp) applications.
Upgrading to the latest version we can use our symbols.nupkg in Visual Studio 2012.
I also activated the source server in Visula Studio as explained on your KB.
In my nuget symbols.nupkg I see that my source are present in a src folder but Visual Studio cannot find them (I see under the cache folder for symbols on the Visual Studio machine that only the pdb is present).
Is there a way to check what happens? Does any edition of proGet support sources?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Hi,

I am using Build Master Version 4.0.9 currently which is using SQL Express Server 2005 by default and is supporting 4096 MB size per database.

I am getting the below error:
500001742HandleError301105172Events_RaiseEvent31Could not allocate space for object 'dbo.EventOccurenceDetails' in database 'BuildMaster' because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unneeded files, dropping objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the filegroup.

Alert while altering the size:
Msg 1827, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
CREATE DATABASE or ALTER DATABASE failed because the resulting cumulative database size would exceed your licensed limit of 4096 MB per database.

For this reason what can be done since my BM has stopped working. Shall I upgrade the BM version and the SQL Version parallely or only the. Will this resolve this database issue.

Also I wanted to know that which SQL version the BM v 4.8.1 will install by default??

Hi,

We're using the API to find out about packages and versions hosted in our various feeds. I looked through the API docs, but I didn't see a what to retrieve a package's ID in a NuGet feed based on the package name. How should we go about retrieving package IDs?

Thanks,
Joel

hi there,

we play with proget Basic Edition. The Configuration of nuget feeds work like a charme.

But when we setup a Bower feed and enable the Caching , there is no possibility to configure the "Disk Path". And the Packages will be not Cached?

Is there an Bug or did we anything wrong?

Best Regards

Hello.

I generate and load native nuget packages (c++) to proGet.
I generate a nupkg and a symbols.nupkg that are loaded correctly into proGet but when I browse the default feed or search for a package I see both packages (like they where two different objects). When we go to the page of a package we see for all versions "No symbols or source files are available.".
I also configured Visual Studio 2012 (following the inedo KB) to use proGet as a symbol server and checked/rebuild index on proGet but Visual Studio do not load the symbols at debug time of the packages I install from proGet (I also used fiddler to monitor the exchange between VS and proGet and I see requests for kernel symbols for example, but not for any symbol related to the nuget packages I installed from proget).

What could I check to fix that?

Thanks a lot for any help.

NuGet V3 is out with VS2015.

There are packages that actually require the dependency management improvements of NuGet V3. See the package System.Collections 4.0.10 hosted on Nuget.org. It specifically says it needs NuGet 3.0 to use.

This package cannot be mirrored to Proget and so we are now at a point where Proget becomes an obstacle, rather than a huge help. Using Proget to attempt resolve the dependency fails. Using the nuget.org feed succeeds.

If there is some additional setup for Proget that makes this work, please let me know,

I have purchased several ProGet licenses which I'm now using in our live build environment. However I would like to install the free version of ProGet on a test server which I plan to use to test new versions of ProGet before I install them in our live build environment. Can you tell me how I can do this as the option is disabled in the installation process?

I keep getting error 400 when attempting to connect to our internal server, set up using the following URL:
http://inedo.com/support/documentation/proget/feeds/nuget/visual-studio-extension

I can view and manage the feeds through its site so I can definitely connect, but attempting to do anything with it in Visual Studio 2012 fails.

I have others in my team who can connect perfectly, although so far they have installed VS 2013 while running their nuget on 2012. I have only VS 2012 installed.
