Hello,

Right now our Production Deployment Plan simply does a Azure Cloud Swap, I also need it to a push the package to 5 different Azure websites.
I created a new Action Group in the Production stage, however how do I set it up to update the 5 Azure websites?

thanks for any leads here

I can add pre- and post-deployment scripts to a project template, but whenever I try to modify one (e.g., change the value of one of the parameters), I get an exception. The workaround is to delete the script from the project template and re-add it with the new parameter values.

I have a simple project (MYPROJECT) that fails to deploy apparently because the project template has a blank Description field. Here's the message I get:

Starting deployment...
Verifying MYSERVER...
Executing: C:\ProgramData\chocolatey\bin\cinst.bat MYPROJECT -Version 1.0.0 -Source http://PROGETSERVER:8181/nuget/ProGet%20Deploy
C:\Windows\system32>cinst.exe 'MYPROJECT' -Version 1.0.0 -Source 'http://PROGETSERVER:8181/nuget/ProGet%20Deploy'
Chocolatey (v0.9.8.27) is installing 'MYPROJECT' and dependencies. By installing you accept the license for 'MYPROJECT' and each dependency you are installing.
Description is required.
Command 'install' failed (sometimes this indicates a partial failure). Additional info/packages: MYPROJECT

When I go back and give the project a Description, it works fine.

The expected behaviors would be either:

  1. to allow the project to deploy without a Description, or
  2. to make Description a required field to ensure it is set on all projects.

Is Buildmaster compatible with SQL Server 2014? I see in a KB article that is lists up to SQL 2012 but that article has not been updated in almost a year.

I am having the same issue as described in this post:

http://inedo.com/support/questions/2068

I have verified all the items listed in the answer to this question and it is still not working. Are there any other solutions?

I had a 1 hour demo with some of your support engineers regarding how to configure Buildmaster given our specific release process. The suggestion was to make each component of our system a deployable within a Master application and then each release of that Master application would push the subset of deployables that we needed deployed for that particular project. My question is, is there any way to enforce a sequential deployment when doing a release of several deployables? I was told that the deployables deploy in parallel, but there will be times where I will need Deployable A to deploy before Deployable B. Is there any way to accomplish this?

The documentation says that symbol packages from connectors cannot be served over the symbol server. Are there any plans to support that?

We're using Artifactory for all of our artifacts, including NuGet packages, so currently we need to deploy our packages to both Artifactory and ProGet, even though ProGet is only used as symbol server, not as package feed.

ISSUE

Proget stops indexing packages once it encounters an indexing error. It does not pick up new packages once we fix the error, until the Proget indexing service is restarted.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Proget Version 3.1.0 (Build 8)
  • Windows 2008 R2
  • IIS 7.5
  • The packages are stored on a Windows network share
  • Both the Proget AppPool and the Proget Service are running as a user that has access to the network share.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Start Proget share and ask it to monitor the network share
  2. Create a nuget package that will cause an indexing error:
    • Take any nuget package. For example: Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.SelfHost.4.0.20710
    • Now rename the package file to remove the trailing 0 from the version number. That is, rename the package from 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.SelfHost.4.0.20710.0.nupkg' to 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.SelfHost.4.0.20710.nupkg'
  3. Now copy this renamed file to the network share.
  4. Proget will try to index this file and log an indexing error. ASIDE: Should this really be an error for Proget??
  5. Now add a different, valid package to the network share.
  6. INCORRECT BEHAVIOR: Proget does not index this package.
  7. Rename the invalid package back to its valid name. So 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.SelfHost.4.0.20710.nupkg' becomes 'Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.SelfHost.4.0.20710.0.nupkg'.
  8. The indexing error in Proget is automatically fixed, WITHOUT restarting the Proget service
  9. Add another new valid package to the network share.
  10. INCORRECT BEHAVIOR: Proget still does not pick up the new package
  11. Restart Proget service
  12. Proget picks up all the packages.
  13. Add another valid package to the network share.
  14. Proget will pick up this new package.

This is pretty strange behavior, since even though Proget doesn't pick up any new packages, it detects the error fix instantly, without needing to restart the service. This indicates that the indexer is still up, and monitoring files, just not adding them to the index?
Let me know if you need any more information.

Thanks,

T

We're having an issue where the server is showing:

ProGet Service Status:
Stopped
Service is not currently running

But I show from looking at the Windows service that the service is actually started. Additionally, I've tried running the service manually and I still see the error. We're also seeing the below error:

Logged 7/22/2014 3:07:45 AM
Message Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

I'm not sure if the two are related.

We used ProGet in version 2.2.13 and had sometimes following error when restoring packages locally:
"The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
After this error there resides some packages as 0 byte temp file in the NuGet cache.

In the release notes I found following entry for version 3.1.0:
"PG-202 - FIX: Failed package downloads from connectors result in a 0-byte file"

Weeks ago we had updated our server to the new version 3.1.0. After the update I had more often errors (500).
On the ProGet server machine I recognized that the CPU usage was very high (dual core; 100%) in case of restoring packages locally.
The process sqlservr used the full CPU power. The error occures more often when I locally cleaned my NuGet cache. After all, I set
the property "RebuildPackageIndex" in AllSettings. After rebuild of the index on the SQL server, the CPU usage changed, but the "IIS Worker Process"
uses now the most CPU usage after a call "nuget restore mySolution.sln" (package folder and NuGet cache cleaned). The solution includes a lot of projects
and about 60 NuGet components as dependencies.

We use a default installation of ProGet with IIS hosting on Windows 7 Professional.

After all, I found out, that the problem is introduced with nuget restore command. The restore command allows parallel processing, so it runs faster.
But in this case the ProGet Server uses so much CPU power that sometimes the error 500 occures. If I use the parameter DisableParallelProcessing in
"nuget restore mySolution.sln -DisableParallelProcessing", it runs more stable.

How could we solve this problem on the ProGet server (with parallel processing)?
Have other the same issue?

Thanks

We use ProGet with LDAP integration.

  1. We have to provide access to ProGet feeds to our customers.
  2. We have a single domain which trusts the 6 domains from a single customer.
  3. Domain groups in our domain are assigned privileges in ProGet.
  4. Groups and users from the trusted domains are added to the domain groups from 3.

Accessing the server with internally works fine.

When we attempt access to a different website on the same server (only differs by port) with anonymous access, this works fine, so there are no other issues with configuration.

We cannot access any of the feeds from the customer network. We are continually presented with a login screen for credentials.

This sounds like we have a currently unsupported scenario - domains in different forests and one-way-trusts.

Any help towards a solution would be useful.

We are evaluating ProGet, but we are currently facing issues with the “nugget.exe list” command.

Our build tool uses the following command to find the latest version of a given package:

nuget.exe list "Id:XXX && Version:1.2.*" –allversions

This command works find on both "nuget.org" and on our existing nuget server, but it always returns nothing on ProGet.
Is this a bug, or just some feature that you don’t support?
Thanks

We appear to have a performance problem with loading ProGet feeds. It's particularly pronounced in the web interface, but also happens in Visual Studio. When I click on Feeds -> [name of our internal feed] in the web interface, it takes over a minute before the packages appear. We currently have ProGet 3.1.0 installed, but the problem has always been present for us. The feed in question is not huge, just 450 package versions (23 package identities).

When I look at Wireshark while the Feeds page on the web interface is loading, the server almost immediately starts sending back the feed data, but it trickles in really slowly (as little as a single character per IP packet, typically one JSON element per packet), so that it takes ~90 seconds before the entire JSON data arrives and the packages are shown.

What can we do to improve this situation?

Trying to create/update releases using SQL and it will not accept the Deployables XML code.

EXEC dbo.Releases_CreateOrUpdateRelease 29, '13.2.1', 30, '', 'test', '', '<ReleaseDeployables><ReleaseDeployables Deployable_Id="112" InclusionType_Code="I" /></ReleaseDeployables>'

If I manually change the Deployables, it ends up removing them.

Is there an obvious part missing? I did try to add <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> to the front of the string, but then I get an error "line 1, character 39, unable to switch the encoding"

Thanks.

Hi, I have asked this question on SuperUser.com (BTW do you monitor the posts there too? I didn't use StackOverflow because it is not really a programming question):

http://superuser.com/questions/786845/is-packageid-now-case-sensitive-in-chocolatey-install-command

and it turned out, that ProGet behaves differently in terms of case sensitivity compared to the standard nuget server.
Do you consider this a bug or a feature?
