So i have installed Proget 4.7.8 with the installer with IIS i then created a second web node to help with load balancing and when i manage the feed it will not show azure or amazon s3 on the web node machine. I had to manually log onto the one server that had the full installation of proget to configure amazon s3 but with load balancing it be a hit or a miss if amazon s3 will show up. I figured maybe the window service had something to do with this so i also installed the windows service but still no luck. i get this error message if i click on the change for Package store. Have i missed something in the manual installation?

Hi,

I installed ProGet on a windows server, and it is up and running.

I succesfully tried to archive an artifact from a Jenkins Pipeline script. This is now working for a zip file of 10MB.

In a different pipeline script I am trying to archive a zip file of 70 MB. But the process is hanging.

[ProGet] Packaging Artifacts
[ProGet] Sending POST as user 'Admin' to http://localhost:8083/upack/test/upload
(loading icon)

Do you know what might be the issue here? the only difference is the file size from what i'm seeing.

In the release list of an application, we can see the past release, packages, deployment time, etc. Is there a place we could see the user who created the release?

Hi,
Is there a maximum size for packages in the Universal Package Repository?

We have a large number of packages that are between 2 and 5GB in size (and cant be made smaller). I've previously updated web.config to allow for files larger than this size.

I'm using chrome so I can see the %upload progress and i notice that with files larger than 2GB when they reach roughly 2GB uploaded then the upload pauses for around 30 seconds and then seems to timeout returning to the Upload package screen.

Is there a fix or a workaround to get the files in?
NB the files are already on the server running proget to save transfer time

We are using Proget 4.6. We've been using Nuget for a while, allowing anonymous publish with an API key.

We've just created an npm key on the same server. It seems like anonymous upload does not work at all with npm. We have to create a user in Proget for every user who wants to publish to the npm feed. What's worse, it seems like the user requires Admin permissions; no other task permission seems to grant the user access to publish to npm.

Is there some conflict here between npm and nuget publish permissions?

Hi,

Vulnerability feeds have multiple ways to version vulnerable libraries, such as:

  1. 5.5.28
  2. <0.9.1
  3. =0.5.0 <0.5.2 || >=0.4.0 <0.4.2

  4. 1.3.0-beta.1 <1.3.0-rc.1

  5. 1.0.1, 1.0.2

Can you please clarify what syntax is supported / expected here? There are examples of exact version (1 above) and less than a version (2 above) in the Vor integration video, but nothing is documented around what is supported for manual entries.

Thank you

James

Under Buildmaster v5.6.9, I'm wondering if the following is expected behavior, and whether this can be changed in a future version of Buildmaster:

When cloning an application, visiting the new application shows that the operation created a release 0.0.0 with the progenitor application's original pipeline. In my Buildmaster configuration, there is no such pipeline, which causes confusion and build errors unless the application is modified. I'm wondering why the release is automatically created, when normally, this has to be done by a user who selects an appropriate pipeline.

Greetings
Michael Pitcher here, Senior Systems engineer with Cornerstone OnDemand and I am working on the design and implementation of ProGet infrastructure across four of our data centers, two in North America and two in Europe. I am looking for HA design and distribution configuration guidance beyond what I have seen in the docs on the website. Is there a support person I can speak with that has had experience with the typical HA infrastructure design at this scale? I am looking for SQL DB considerations and typical package distribution scenarios. We currently are licensed for ProGet Enterprise and BuildMaster Enterprise, though from initial research I don't believe BuildMaster is required for this package distribution solution. Thanks in advance for the help. The goal is to implement ProGet as an HA Chocolatey repository and package distribution network quickly at an enterprise level and to outline the infrastructure in preparation for the server builds and product installation. Thanks.

I've attempted to follow your examples after using a trial version of Proget and followed the instructions but I am unable to use npm adduser or login to authenticate and publish a package. I have done both:

    npm config set @XXX:registry http://xxxname/npm/registry
npm config set always-auth true --scope:@xxx
    npm login --loglevel silly

and

    npm adduser --registry=http=http://xxxname/npm/registry/ --loglevel silly

It returns something like:

npm verb adduser before first PUT { _id: 'org.couchdb.user:uxteam',
npm verb adduser name: 'someteam',
npm verb adduser password: 'XXXXX',
npm verb adduser email: 'x@xxx.com',
npm verb adduser type: 'user',
npm verb adduser roles: [],
npm verb adduser   date: '2017-04-05T16:20:15.940Z' }
npm verb request uri http://xxxname/npm/registry/-/user/org.couchdb.user:uxteam
npm verb request new user, so can't send auth
npm info attempt registry request try #1 at 9:20:15 AM
npm verb request id fb33501355d49a49
npm http request PUT http://xxxname/npm/registry/-/user/org.couchdb.user:uxteam

and just hangs.

I've verified that the user is in the system and also tried using the default admin user.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I'm trying to get rid of the last Windows Server I have, and it's serving some private NuGet feeds using ProGet for my project. I was able to install it successfully on Digital Ocean's server using docker-compose with Nginx in front of it and migrated all the data using CSV files between MS SQL and Postgres.

But then realized I can't use it, because Postgres is not case insensitive like MS SQL, and I can't make it case insensitive by a "global switch".

I have a lot of external users that use those private feeds in their continuous integration environments. There is a high probability that they are using other case for logins and package ids than in the database, like "hangfire.pro" instead of "Hangfire.Pro". This is not a problem when using ProGet for Windows, and it's a more user-friendly approach, since they don't need to guess the proper casing.

I've googled a bit to learn how to make Postgresql's queries case insensitive, and learnt there are two options: use the "citext" data type, or change all queries to use the "LOWER" function. I've tried to change the data type to "citext", and try to login using the different casing, but this does not work at all.

So looks like the only option is to fix all the queries, and I can't perform this on my side. Have you faced with this problem before?

I am currently building a few Proget machines in AWS which our AWS account has its own domain. Currently we have a one way trust with the AWS domain where our internal doamin can access anything in AWS but AWS cannot access resources in our internal domain.

Will there be any changes to the LDAP setup for multi domains to include outgoing trusts as this makes more sense to use vs using inbound connections. With Inbound witch should not have access to the domain would not make sense to have the users on the domain with no access able to access the proget site.

Release Notes for the 4.6.3 version of Proget state that is has the feature ' PG-680 - npm feeds now support basic authentication even if Windows Integrated Authentication is enabled'.

We have the 4.6.5 version of Proget installed but are seeing behavior that our npm feed is requiring Windows Integrated Authentication.

How can we use the PG-680 feature? Can you provide instructions for how to use it?
