Hello,

Would it be possible to retrieve the value of an environment variable in a plan assigned to a pipeline stage without an environment specified, using a reference to an environment name inside the plan?

Thanks.

I'm currently deleting proget packages using nuget's rest api calling the below powershell script

Invoke-RestMethod -Method Delete -Uri "http://myprogetserver.com/nuget/mypackages/$NugetPackageId/$($package.Version_Text)" -Headers @{"X-NuGet-ApiKey"="username:password"}

If i do the following will proget take care of the following things below

1.) Delete the Packages on Disk
2.) Delete all metadata in the database for that package that is deleted to prevent leaving "orphaned" data around forever.

This link is to Jenkins Blue Ocean
https://jenkins.io/projects/blueocean/

It shows a Dev/Staging/Production pipeline completely in Jenkins.

This link is to the BuildMaster extension for Jenkins that shows a Testing/QA/Staging/Production release pipeline:
http://inedo.com/den/buildmaster/jenkins

What I don't understand is what is the advantage of having BuildMaster take over the pipeline with Jenkins doing the build instead of having Jenkins do it?

What parts in the Blue Ocean screen shot would still be done in Jenkins and what would be done in BuildMaster?

Let's say we have a complete pipeline. There're times where slight variations to that pipeline is needed. For example, we may want to skip certain stages.

One way I can think of is to define a different pipeline, this treats all variations as independent.

Another is probably to have release variable. Currently only plan can make use of those release variable if I understand correctly. This may be a bit intrusive on the operations, because it is pipeline that contains variation, not plans.

Is it possible to still use release variable, but adding the if/else condition at pipeline level, to choose to execute certain stage, or even certain targets in a stage?

We recently installed the latest version of ProGet on a Windows 2008 R2 Server with SQL Server 2008 R2 utilizing the embedded IIS service. While we're able to hit the site, anytime a page is visited we get a dialog box stating: JQuery.UI.Dialog library not loaded; cannot add inedojq_frameddialog plugin. The rest of the page then loads completely. Looking at the page source, we're able to see all the resources and they look to be accessable (i.e. /resources/InedoLibWeb/styles, /resources/images, etc.) However, trying to view any of the resources in: /resources/InedoLib/jquery-ui-1.11.4 we get back 404s of not found. These missing resources also seem to keep us from being able to log in to the portal, making changes, etc.

Hello, my team is starting to use the pipeline job type in Jenkins 2.x which is based on groovy scripting. Does the proget plugin for creating univerasal artifacts support the pipeline scripting? if so is there any reference we can use that would provide samples on syntax?

Thanks!

We'd like to attach a reference number to each deployment when email has been sent out for approval required. The default email template looks pretty good at this. So I'd like to add the reference to the template rather than creating custom email templates.

Can we have an additional options to include the release/package note in the email template body? Just like there's option to include failed action log currently.

Hello, my understanding is that ProGet does not currently support APIKey/authtoken support for NPM feeds.

We are using the Travis-ci build service to build and publish packages to our feed, but I can't find a way to do this without using an APIKey, which is the standard way of doing this for NPM packages.

Does Inedo offer any guidance as to how to accomplish publishing through travis-ci without an API Key for NPM?

There is a small bug in Otter 1.4.6.
Here is the steps to reproduce from fresh installation:

  1. Install Agent on Otter host (SRV 1) and a second server SRV2
  2. Add one role : Baseline
  3. Add SRV1(Otter host) / assign Environment Testing / Role Baseline
  4. Add SRV2 / assign Environment Production / Role Baseline
  5. Create a configuration Plan to Role Baseline (ie Ensure Directory for exemple)

After Check Configuration and Remediation Job, the reported results are not correct whereas the configuration is correctly applied

Screen Servers
-> Show only one server with Current Status (expected 2 )

Screen Role
-> Role Baseline shows 2 servers as Current Status as expected

Screen Environment
-> Only Testing line is reported as Current

There the configuration are working correctly

I have a feed setup with an APIKey and Anonymous is allowed "Add_Package", as described here: https://inedo.com/support/kb/1112/api-keys-in-proget

Without logging in, I am able to "Add Package" via the Web UI using the "Upload from Disk" option.

If I select the "Pull from another repository", it prompts me to log in.

If I do it via nuget.exe from the command line, it requires either authentication or the API key.

Any assistance would be appreciated
Thanks

Hello,

I've had an issue with Git source providers not working again and after upgrading to version 5.6.3, noticed that the following "Source Control Providers have been deprecated in favor of using tool-specific operations, such as Svn-Checkout and Git-GetSource."

So I'm now trying to use the "Get Git Source" command, but can only get source from the master branch. I've searched for the command on the website, but can't find any documentation for it, just details for the "Get Latest" command.

I'm assuming I have the syntax of the command partially correct, as it does retrieve files from Git. Here's the command (I've changed the urls and project name):

    Git-GetSource
    (
        RepositoryUrl: http://mygitlab.local/project/project2.git,
        DiskPath: C:\BuildMaster\deploy\projectLive,
        Branch: PRODUCTION,
        UserName: buildmaster,
        Password: mypassword,
        CleanWorkspace: true
    );

As you can see, the branch is defined, but the code is picked up from master.
The log states the branch production as well.

I've deleted the repo details from C:\BuildMaster_WEBTMP\SrcRepos, but still get the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

I've a nuget feed with configured DropPath. It was working as expected before. But somehow stops... I'm deploying nuget packages to the drop path and expecting from Proget to update the feed automatically, as it did before.
Any help or suggestion is appreciated!

We have a couple of products that are 10+ year established code base and a very large code base on top of that. So changing the versioning of these products is not going to happen anytime soon.
Just prior to 5.x you had introduced the Deployment feeds which allowed, still widely used, 4 placed versioning like 1.0.0.4. This allows me to store multiple versions of packages in the feed.
I still have two of these Deployment feeds but I cannot create anymore, so my question is how can I handle the need to keep multiple build packages around in a ProGet feed, say a Universal one? So if I upload today 1.0.0.4 and tomorrow need to upload 1.0.0.5 and keep both around for a few weeks how can I do that without creating entriely separate packages? Right now if I upload a package using our versioning but following your feed requirements I cannot do this since they get pushed as 1.0.0 in both cases.

Why make a Universal feed so restrictive? It's supposed to be Universal isn't it?

We have just upgraded from 4.9 to 5.6.3. One of the many issues I'm currently facing is, for one application, TFS is not pulling down all folders.

I've tried deleting the workspace folder from _SVCTMP\SrcRepos folder but now it's not bringing anything down (from TFS).

How can I effectively reset the TFS link to this source folder?

I'm trying to Integrate ProGet with Vor Security.

I tried the following:

  1. Updated the ProGet to the latest version available (Version 4.6.3 (Build 8))
  2. Updated Extensions.ExtensionsPath with a valid value.
  3. I tried installing the VoR Security extension(though after installation I'm not able to see anything under installed extensions)
  4. Generated API token under the Trial license of Vor Security
  5. Trying to set it as Vulnerability Source in ProGet going to Administration-> Manage vulnerability Sources > Create Vulnerability Source.
  6. UI that is available for Setting Vulnerability Source is completely different as I'm seeing.(following http://inedo.com/support/tutorials/proget/configuring-a-vulnerability-source)
  1. I'm getting Manual Vulnerability Source(allows known packages vulnerabilities to be individually specified and edited manually) only option.

Am I missing something above?
