Hello,

I've installed ProGet on a Windows 10 machine, using SQL Server Express 2014 on the backend. While I'm able to add new users and new groups, and even add users to groups, I'm unable to assign new permissions to any users.

For example, I created a publisher user and a publisher group, added the user to the group -- good so far. Then I tried to add 'Publish Packages' permission to the publisher group, and I get the following error and stack (I apologize for the formatting):

Server Error in '/' Application.

Hello,
I have setup Proget locally and uploaded a nuget package along with the pdb and the source files. I completed the setup in visual studio in order to be able to fetch the package from proget and setup the source server in visual studio so that is points to
http://localhost:81/symbols/test_feed . The problem is that each time I try to debug code that belongs to the package I get a pop up in order to point where is the source files even though the source files are inside the package itself.

The initial package that is used in proget is packed with the command.
NuGet.exe pack -Prop Configuration=Release myproj.csproj -Symbols

The output of visual studio is that it cannot find the source files. It searches for the source files in the folders where the source files were when I created the package. So if I pack the package at another computer and try to use it on my own, visual studio tries to find the source files at the initial locations that correspond to the folders in the other computer (that they do not exist at my computer of course).

What might be the problem?

Thank you in advance

Hi ProGet Team,

First of all, Awesome App, we never regret changing from a normal NuGet Server to a ProGet licensed server with package cleaning.

We have a little issue, just updated to 4.0.13 (from 4.0.10) and now the "Feed Retention Rules" section does not work.

If we try to edit or even add a new rule to an existing feed, it shows an error page with the following:

"Server Error in '/' Application.

Client Resource /pages/administration/feeds/retention/createoreditretentionrulepage.cs.html
was not found in assembly ProGet.WebApplication and does not exist on disk at
C:\Program Files\ProGet\WebApp\pages\administration\feeds\retention\createoreditretentionrulepage.cs.html"

The thing is, as far as we know that folder never existed at that location in previous versions.

As a note: We have ProGet installed as an IIS Service.

Thanks in advance!

I'm using the Windows extension to execute a Powershell script on a deployment.

The machine is a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 machine that had Powershell 2.0 installed by default. Our team needs to utilize a Cmdlet that's only available in Powershell 3.0, so I upgraded Powershell on the machine via Windows Update, but now Buildmaster still indicates that it's still using Powershell 2.0 when I print $PSVersionTable.PSVersion out to the console.

When I open a Powershell window outside of BuildMaster, it correctly returns that it's using 3.0.

Is this a known issue, or is there some configuration setting that I am missing that sets what version of Powershell is used by the extension?

Thanks in advance.

I created a folder on proget's server and placed all legacy's nuget packages in it to do a bulk import in to Proget.
i set the Bulk Import Drop Path on a specific feed.
But Proget does not import any packages to the feed.

i think the permission is ok.
if you need any other information, you can send a email to me.
i can attach the inform you want.

I've run into what seems to be a bug. Using the built in user directory, I can't seem to add Principals to Roles. Instead, when I click "Save Privilege", I get an IIS yellow screen with the following stack trace:

Tested in both 4.0.6 and 4.0.11 version,

The following packages are the ones we’re attempting to consume:

"@angular/common": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/compiler": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/core": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/http": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/platform-browser": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/platform-browser-dynamic": "^2.0.0-rc.1",
"@angular/router-deprecated": "^2.0.0-rc.1",

All of them have the same issue which is that proget doesn’t like the @ in the name.

You can see the bug in action if you do an http request to the server:

I have given you the URLs which works with npmjs registry not with proget.

https://SERVERNAME/npm/DefaultNPM/@angular%2fcommon
fails
error it throws "{"error":"ArgumentException","reason":"String is not a valid semantic version."}"

https://SERVERNAME/npm/DefaultNPM/es6-promise
succeeds

Performing the same requests to the public npm server works correctly:

https://registry.npmjs.org/@angular%2fcommon
succeeds

https://registry.npmjs.org/es6-promise
succeeds

Please let us know, if there is a fix available in any builds.

First off, I am a complete noob to BuildMaster. This is my first application that I am trying to setup within my organization. It's super simple:

  1. Check out source
  2. Set Assembly Info
  3. Install Nuget packages
  4. Compile

Well the Build fails with message:
'The execution has failed. Select "View Details" for the complete error details.'

I click "View Details" and see:

Execution Initialization

DEBUG: Initializing server 1...
DEBUG: Server FPSRVRDEVBMASTE (ID: 1) initialized.

SCM

1: Get Latest Source from MyApplication to $CurrentDirectory 0.38s Failed
DEBUG: Source and target directory are the same; splitting...

This is still no help. I think something is wrong with the SCM checkout, but what? What's wrong? What is the error? Is it that "Source and target directory are the same; splitting..." That doesn't seem like an error to me. It is listed as a DEBUG: message. So I click "View Complete Log"

It just gives me the same stuff with a nice pretty black background. But nothing appears to be an error message.

I am used to creating builds in Jenkins where I can view the raw output logs and find a very specific error message at the bottom that indicates why a build fails. From there, you fix and build again. How is one supposed to troubleshoot a failed build in BuildMaster? Where does it tell me what went wrong?

Please help...

Thank you!

We recently stood up a Proget server as [much better] alternative to Nuget.Server for some internal Powershell modules and packages. I'm seeing some caching like behavior that doesn't sound expected though. If we create a package at a particular version number it seems to persist no matter what we do. I've deleted the package from the Proget server, made my package changes, then pushed the updated package, but when pulling and installing the package it's the same original package. Same behavior when overwriting the same version.

This is happening using Powershell 5's PackageManagement module. I've also been sure to delete the local copy of the package from c:\chocolatey\lib as otherwise you can't reinstall the same version anyway. Trying to install the package after deleting it from the server generates and error that it can't be found so it shouldn't be any client-side caching.

Ultimately our goal is to be able to create our packages at the version number matching the actual application but right now we're having to start at a low number and keep incrementing that version number while writing and testing the package installer script.

Hi,

Is there a way to run a direct command line to call java.
The execute command line uses an executable file.
But I would like to avoid using a wrapper and execute the command line directly.
Is that something doable, I wasn’t able to find documentation concerning that.

I would like to execute something like this :

java -Djava.security.auth.login.config=%INSTALL_DIR%/server/client/auth.conf -cp %CLASSPATH% com.solabs.qm.process.deployer.FileBasedProcessDeployerRunner %1 %2 %3 %4

Thank you,

After installing the new Version I get this error:
Cannot access a disposed object.
Object name: 'SlimMemoryStream'.

Setup was successful (according to last setup step).

My URL: https://devpackages.tts-company.com/

ProGet is IIS hosted.

On the feeds page there is a count of packages for each feed (both local and mirrored from a connector), however upon clicking on the number only the local packages are shown.

It would be nice to also display mirrored packages.

in VS2015 update 2 Nuget package manager,
it can't show the package that is built from .xproj (.net core project)

However, you still can install it from package manager console.

Hello. I'm trying to setup a two-stage deployment scenario. Stage 1 is triggered automatically at a certain time, and runs through an application setup and deployment. That is working fine. However, once that happens, I want to be able to push out hotfixes triggered by SCM commits.

The current setup looks something like:
<code>
Release
|-Deployment Workflow
| |-Deployment Build
|
|-HotFix Workflow
|-HotFix Build
</code>

A release is made, a deployment build is triggered, executed, and then finishes. The release remains active, but is stuck in the Deployment Workflow. This means that the HotFix Build cannot be triggered, because the release is in the wrong workflow.

If I manually switch the release's workflow to the HotFix Workflow, SCM triggered hotfixes work as intended. However, as far as I can tell, there's no way to automatically change a release's workflow.

Creating a new release for the hotfixes isn't really an option. I could make a new application specifically for hotfix deployments, and do it that way, but that seems to defeat the entire point of workflows. (Not to mention being a pain.)

Any ideas?

it appears there's path problem when creating new .net application with subversion control.
BuildMaster displays the following error:

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\BuildMaster_SVCTMP\SrcRepos\211.33.40.149_svn_xxxxxx_trunk'.
while xxxxx is my project name.

but I confirmed that the path actually exists!!
How to solve this issue ?
Thanks.
