After installing ProGet 4.4.2(Build 5), Pre-Release packages are not being displayed while doing a search packages.

In version 4.0.8, we used to have drop down option for Pre-Release to include while doing a search.

We have a trial installation setup to evaluate the product (4.3.1) and I wanted to upgrade to the latest version, (4.5.3) but the installer crashes just after extracting the files.

Is it possible to improve the styling for npm README Markdown files. For example, code items have a plain white background and courier font. Typically, the styling is much more distinct for those elements. Improvements to the styling (or a way to change it) would be appreciated. Thanks for all the hard work.

Does BuildMaster support releasing bundled software products?

For instance the release of a set of related applications which each could have separate release packages (and could be standalone releases?).
Let's say a release of a wordprocessor, spreadsheet, and presentation tool in a single bundled release like Microsoft Office?
How about a set of related micro-services, each with their own version numbers?

Can that be accomplished by using "Release Templates"?
It is not clear to me from the documentation pages.

We're getting a lot of errors on our SCM triggers for projects. The full log is:

SCM-Triggered Automatic Build "<TRIGGERNAME>" (#144) in application "<PROJECTNAME>" using "<SOURCECONTROLPROVIDER" provider: Errors getting SCM state: Target OID for the reference doesn't exist on the repository

This is for our GitHub Source Control Provider.

Interestingly the same provider works for other repositories. Any ideas about what would cause one repository to fail over the others?

Do you have an ETA on an update for the NuGet extension? It needs to be updated to work. Do I need to fork it?

I cannot uninstall .NET recipes in the current version of BuildMaster. I have moved to the new SDK extension, but I would like to uninstall the deprecated extension. A manual delete of the extension from the BuildMaster directory did not work. Is there additional SQL cleanup that I need to do?

I'm attempting to upload a 1.87GB upack file and the upload progress is stuck at 0%.

I can successfully upload a smaller upack file.

I've checked the IIS and PorGet web.config file size restrictions are set to 2GB.

I've increased the IIS Connection Time-out (seconds) to 10 minutes.

Any ideas?

On the dashboard there's a package count per feed, but this seems to count all versions of all packages.
Could you add the count of the number of unique packages per feed (no matter how many versions exist)?

Hi, i have a proget version 4.5.2 installed with a feed called "npm".
This feed has a connector to the npmjs official registry (https://registry.npmjs.org/).

Once i use it to install a package that starts with the name "npm-" it give a 404 not found error.

Commands:

  • npm i -g npm-check-updates

  • npm i -g npm-proxy-cache

Gives: 404 Not Found.

If set to the official registry it works, but not at proget feed.

Don't know if this bug is related with the feed name or with the proget itself, but this is the scenario.

We currently are using ProGet to host Nuget packages and are using integrated security which connects to our active directory.

We want to add an NPM feed but are having issues getting the NPM client to connect to the feed.

We switched the registry in the npm client to the proget feed by running npm config set registry

When we run npm install it gets an authentication error.

We tried creating a user "npm_test" and tried using that user and calling npm login and passing user id and password and a bogus email and got the same authentication error.

Are we missing something? Can we not use integrated security and host an NPM feed that can be connected to? What do you guys recommend?

We have multiple servers in both our test environment and our production environment. For the most part our web.config file is the same for each server in a given environment. We have one setting that differs and for those I have am using a server level variable to define the value to put in the config file on deploy. This works great when using the normal deploy process. What I have noticed is that if instead of deploying it along with a package you do a manual deploy of a web.config change directly to a given server that it doesn't apply any of the server level variables. Is the only way to get that to work is create a different instance of the config file for each server? If there are other options what are they? Or perhaps is this a bug?

Hi

We are moving all our npm packages from a DEV Proget server to PRODUCTION Server

We would like to export all the internal npm packages (with all the versions) from DEV and import them in PROD

We have tried to export but the export function export only one version of the package

Is there a way to export all the version of the npm packages and import them in another server?

Thanks

Alberto

When I try to setup an npm feed and enter the official registry (which is also the default value for the connector) as https://registry.npmjs.org/ the feed does not contain any packages and the health shows up as "Unknown".

What am I doing wrong? NuGet works fine.

We launched ProGet within one division of our company via LDAP. It is working well, but we acquired and we are now struggling to add other users using a different domain. The users have been mapped to the AD group (via GALSync) we created for ProGet. However, their credentials are not being accepted within ProGet.

We are considering moving from LDAP to AD since our current configuration doesn't appear to be working. However, we are concerned about the potential disruption this change may impose. I've seen a couple of Q&A entries that resulted in some difficulties and cases where your developers needed to send some C# code.

Questions:

  1. Is there guidance on proper configuration with multiple mapped domains using LDAP or is AD required?
  2. Is there guidance on the prep or process required to navigate from LDAP to AD?
  3. Do the items above require us to be on a specific (newer) version of ProGet?

Thanks,

Christian

I'm trying to allow some users to unlist packages but can't find any documentation on exactly what permissions correlate to the Feed permissions when creating a new Task.

Currently I have two Otter agents that have executions that have been running for days. I am not sure what is wrong with them, but I want to properly terminate the executions and make sure the agents are in a good state. What is the best practice for dealing with this? I am planning the following approach (pseudo code):

foreach host with long running execution {
      delete the execution using native Otter API
      #Is this service restart needed?
      restart the INEDOAGENTSVC running on the host
}

PackageA:

{
    "name": "Root",
    "version": "1.0.0"
}

PackageB:

{
    "name": "Dependent",
    "version": "1.0.0",
    "dependencies": ["Root"]
}

My expectation would be that PackageB now has a dependency to PackageA.

But, when uploading this package and going to its Details page, this error occurs:

An error occurred getting the package: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

Trying the same with an empty group name:

PackageB:

{
    "name": "Dependent",
    "version": "1.0.0",
    "dependencies": [":Root"]
}

yields:

An error occurred getting the package: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: packageGroup

The only way it works is when PackageA is in a group.

I have a map defined in my application settings as

{
"TestMap": "%(val1: foo, val2: bar)"
}

and I have a basic plan

for server MyTestServer
{
    set $test = $MapItem(%TestMap, val1);
    Execute-PowerShell >>
        $test;
        echo $test;
    >>;
}

But upon execution I am getting the following stack trace.

Unhandled exception: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
