I want to stop the IIS app pool of my webserver as a step in the deployment plan like descriped in http://inedo.com/support/documentation/otter/reference/operations/iis/stop-app-pool

When I try to select the webserver in the setup of the action, I can not choose my webserver. Only the build server is available and no other addresses are accepted. Do I have to install software on the webserver like described in this guide?

We have changed the names of several of our internal Nuget packages. I don't want ProGet to list the packages with the old names any more, so I tried to hide them by using the "unlist package" command from the package details page. However, that seems to only unlist a specific version. Now I don't want to manually unlist every single version of all of our packages. How can I unlist all versions of a package without removing the package from the feed? (builds of older versions of our software still need to find the old packags, so I cannot simply remove them)

Hi,

We've installed the free version of ProGet on our Windows 2012 server for evaluation. All default values were used during installation. We choose to use existing SQL Server instance (SQL Server 2014). We also chose to use the integrated web server. Installation was completed without error.

However, the page at localhost:81 fails to load (ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED). There doesn't appear to have been any errors in creation of the database ProGet within our SQL Server instance. The ProGet service appears to be running without error although it takes a very long time to start. While the service is starting, a series of login failures occur on our SQL Server with the following text:

Login failed for user 'OUR_DOMAIN\SERVER-NAME$'. Reason: Could not find a login matching the name provided. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

Hi dear support,

I have a question regarding the ProGet symbol server mechanism for NuGet packages.
When I debug a package the symbol server copies only sometimes none, sometimes one or two files of the hole package in the
C:\Users\myUser\AppData\Local\Temp\SymbolCache\src\source-files\NuGet\myPackage directory. Is it possible that it copies all the files so I can open them in Visual Studio and debug them?

Best regards

Marco

Couldn't find on your site which version of Visual Studio Proget supports. I'm using 2012. My user account (AD- using LDAP) has full access to all feeds, but when I add the feeds to visual studio it keeps prompting me for my password.

Is there someway to copy the Application Variables from Execution(Development) to Execution(Testing) for example.
I have a lot of variables and having to repeat entry of them for 4-5 environments is a bit of pain.
Kind of surprised you can't do this or even create the Application Variables and have some kind of option to say create them for all environments in that scope. Then allow you to edit them after that.

Anyway, just looking for a way to speed up setup.

Thanks,
Jon

We started to experience some strange behavior with the Chocolatey feed. When trying to download a remote package (either because a client is doing choco install or executing the Pull to Proget from the portal) the operation fails.

For the client it receives a

VisualStudioCode not installed. An error occurred during installation: Error en el servidor remoto: (503) Servidor no disponible. The install of VisualStudioCode was NOT successful.

While in the portal you get a

The package could not be installed. The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.

Checking the error messages you see this message:
An error occurred processing a GET request to http://myserve:81/nuget/mychocolatey/package/VisualStudioCode/0.10.8: Cannot download package from https://chocolatey.org/api/v2

With the following stack trace:
at Inedo.ProGet.WebApplication.SimpleHandlers.NuGet.NuGetApi.GetHandler.<TransmitPackageAsync>d__1.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Inedo.ProGet.WebApplication.SimpleHandlers.NuGet.NuGetApi.GetHandler.<ProcessGetRequestAsync>d__0.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at Inedo.ProGet.WebApplication.SimpleHandlers.NuGet.NuGetApi.<ProcessRequestAsync>d__6.MoveNext()

We try to analize the network traffic and seems there's something going on with the certifcate returned by the host of the package content. I believe the package should be downloaded from some url like packages.chocolatey.org but the certificate seems to be issued for ssl325587.cloudflaressl.com. I know you're not responsible for this but I have two questions:

  • Have you found this situarion or got any report about this mulfunction?
  • Is there any way to configure the application to ignore the SSL errors?

I'm not happy with that option but seems at this point we're analizing any option to bring the feed back. Thanks in advance!

We're running 4.0.7 build 3 (free version).

I'm trying to create a new user when logged in as the administrator. When I click the "Create User" button, I'm getting an IIS error with the following message in a pop-up window:

I get the following error when trying to use the "Set Release Notes" deployment task to send release notes to our Nuget repository when setting the From selection to "Resolved Issue Tracker Items" or "Both". It works OK when set to "Application Release Notes", but that doesn't send any of our Issue Tracking information to ProGet. This worked fine on BuildMaster version 4.8.6 using the TFS 2012 extension. I am now using BuildMaster version 4.9.7 and the new TFS extension.

Does Otter provide an API (e.g. REST API) that would enable managing configuration programmatically?

We needed to reinstall the product from the scratch, so when uninstalling it the option of removing the database was selected. However upon reinstallation, all settings were still there and we checked that the database was never deleted. Unistalled again and could see that the DB instance and file were still in place besides asking for their removal.

In order to produce a clean install we had to delete the Proget DB manually

I'm facing several problems with the NPM connector. First of all and, as mentioned in question 4302 by chris the packages are simply not listed. I've run the FullNpmConnectorIndex scheduled task several times but still the same. The task runs fine, just outputing the warnings about versions property. However in the event log nothing get's registered (in v3.8.6 each package generated a message regarding whether it was created or updated).

Additionally, the IncrementalNpmConnectorIndex is failing with the following details:

DEBUG: Getting metadata from https://registry.npmjs.org/-/all/since?stale=update_after&startkey=1455702501720 ERROR: Error processing JSON: System.Exception: uninclused at Inedo.ProGet.ScheduledTasks.Npm.NpmConnectorIndexScheduledTaskBase.<IndexConnectorAsync>d__1.MoveNext()

If you try to access a specific package page (using the /<feed>/<package>/<version> convention) you get part of the page but not the versions. And in the errors console you can see a classical An error occurred in the web application: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. with the following stack trace:

URL: http://myserver:81/0x44/ProGet.WebApplication/Inedo.ProGet.WebApplication.Pages.Npm.Feeds.NpmPackageVersionPage/GetFullPackageInfo Referrer: http://myserver:81/npm-feeds/mynpm/npm/3.7.2 User: MorpheAdmin User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/48.0.2564.109 Safari/537.36 Stack trace: at Inedo.ProGet.WebApplication.Pages.Npm.Feeds.NpmPackageVersionPage.<GetFullPackageInfo>d__7.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter´1.GetResult() at Inedo.Web.Handlers.JsonDataHttpHandler.AsyncHandler.<ProcessRequestAsync>d__6.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at System.Web.TaskAsyncHelper.EndTask(IAsyncResult ar) at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.OnAsyncHandlerCompletion(IAsyncResult ar)

Finally, when you try to install anything from the npm feed in proget you end up with errors regarding no compatible version found (when you don't specify a version correctly) or version not found (when you target a specific version).

At this point the NPM feed is totally useless, so I'd really apreciate some insight on what's going on and what can be done to solve it.

I created a user without groups as I had not yet created the group I needed to add them to.

I created a group and if I try to add the user from the group panel, it won't add them. I pick their name, it appears in the Group Members box. Clicking "Save" gives no errors - but the page does not update with their name and reclicking the group does not show them in it.

If I open the user object, I can pick the group, (leave password as "unchanged") - when I clck "Save" - then "Required" appears under the "Password" Prompt. If I reenter a temporary password and press "Save", then the dialog refreshes with username blanked out and of course there is no way forward from that because the username is not an editable field because this was an existing user.

I suspect this may only happen when a user is initially created with NO GROUP at all.
