I'd like to migrate my Packages directory from the default local location (c:\programdata\ProGet) to a location on my network accessible by UNC path (ie \servername\ProGet). Would this be as easy as copying my Packages directory to the network location and then changing the 'PackagesRootPath' to my UNC path? Thank you.

When doing a batch import via a feed's drop path, are package files supposed to remain there once they've been successfully imported?

I'm currently trying to migrate hundreds of packages, but it's hard for me to tell if/when it is finished correctly.

We have no problem with BuildMaster agent runs as local admin. But when they are not local admins, we noticed the agents are stuck in forever "Updating" status. What exactly are the Windows permissions needed for a BuildMaster agent?

Currently I have my application set to allow multiple builds, however when I run multiple builds I notice that both builds overwrite the same directory. This is a problem because I end up with code changes from one build end up on the other. Is there a way to use the multiple builds without overwriting the same directory?

I have a source + symbols package and when I am attempting to step into the code, Visual Studio is not able to download the source. It makes the following requests:

<my server>/symbols/<my feed>/<dll name>.pdb/<random stuff>/<dll name>.pdb
...
<my server>:<port>/nuget/source-files/<my feed>/<package name>/<version>/<path to source>

The first gives a 200 response, the second is a 500 error. If I remove the 'nuget' part of the path and the port (i.e. <my server>/source-files/<my feed>/...) I am able to view the source file. I can fix the path with a simple URL Rewrite rule in IIS, but I don't know how to fix the port problem. The issue appears to be that ProGet is hard-coding the port into any URIs it generates. Is there some way to disable that?

Hi guys,

I am trying to install some extensions(svn, Jenkins, TFS) to get started in BuildMaster.

However it seems some issue happens:
A WebException occurred when attempting to load extension components XML: The operation has timed out

I wonder where can I go for more detail about this error to figure out how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

We would like to use the bower feed for storing private and public bower packages. As bower is mainly only a wrapper around a git url, we would like to have a caching mechanism for third party git repositories, so that in case the public git repo is offline the content gets delivered thru proget.

As I can see private-bower has this feature.

Hello,

I am unable to add git repository to my Buildmaster application. I provide ssh://git@gitlab.xxx (company's own hosted gitlab server). I have added the ssh key and tested via command line on server and I am able to clone the repo without problems from command line. Buildmaster is running on Win2012 server. You documentation about how to set up git repo is a redirect back to http://inedo.com/buildmaster/extensions/git (where link to "howto integrate" is posted).

Thank you,
Milan

Hello everyone,

we use ProGet as our internal NuGet server and have been very happy with it so far. Since we recently also started up a few small Java projects in the team we decided to give ProGet's Maven support a try.

Unfortunately, we've been running into quite a few issues with pushing artifacts to ProGet using "mvn deploy":

If the build process produces multiple files, e.g., the main JAR, a JavaDoc JAR and checksum files ProGet will only keep the last file to be pushed. In our case this caused ProGet to return a checksum file when the main JAR was requested.

When pushing snapshot builds ProGet seems to expect the JAR file to be named like *-SNAPSHOT.jar rather than the automatically generated *-SNAPSHOT-timestamp.jar.

Are these scenarios simply unsupported by ProGet so far or are we running into some kind of bug or configuration issue?

Regards
Bastian

We have BuildMaster set up to build automatically from TFS on check-in, and this works great most of the time. Just recently we were testing some application moves into Build Master and the programmer failed to include some items in the project on the migration.

The automatic build from BuildMaster showed [Completed] and the log shows the TFS build completed, but looking at the Build Controller in TFS it is very clear that the build did not complete!

The error in the TFS Build Controller is simply that a referenced DLL is missing on the Build Server, in this case OpenXML, because the developer failed to include it. Of course, the developer assumed it was working based on the Success in BuildMaster.

Shouldn't this error carry across and fail the build/promotion?

Hi,

We have included .pdb files along with .dll in NuGet package. After upgrading to ProGet 3.8.1, we were unable to download the NuGet package correctly(i mean with .dll & .pdb). Instead, we are getting only .dll.
Somehow the latest version of ProGet is filtering .pdb files.

Can some one tell me how to bypass this filter. I should be able to download NuGet package with .dll & .pdb while using "Nuget.exe install" command.

Let me know if you need more info on this.

Thanks

Hi,

we are using free edition of proget, due to which we cant make use of 'Delete old versions' option under "Create Feed Retention Rule".
What is the best way to cleanup a feed for free edition users? is there any script that we can use?

I tried adding a connector to the Default feed for the new NuGet 3.x endpoint "https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json" that is also already used in Visual Studio 2015.
It was actually released the same day as VS2015.
This doesn't seem to work in ProGet: no packages are listed in the feed.
When do you expect to have support for NuGet 3.x ?

The architecture was redesigned, there's even a new nuget protocol version.
I'm mainly interested because it would have much better performance.
