UI Issues

  • I have experienced a number of issues with Build Master the last few days - since I upgraded to 4.4.3 and then 4.4.4

We use IE9 - unfortunately this is our corporate standard, but I also have similar issues with Firefox v31. The issues are:

    • I frequently find that if I click on a link within BuildMaster I get the message Internet Explorer cannot display web page. If I then refresh the page it often displays normally.

    • The system overview page is particular problematic. When I login, no data is displayed including the Latest News from Inedo. It does not matter how often I refresh the page. But if I open the applications page and then click the BuildMaster logo -the page displays as expected. Is a script failing?

    • As I move from page to page I sometimes find that fonts etc appear to change – particularly in Firefox.

    • I appear to have more issues if I use the server alias in the URL, rather than the server's computer name.

I am wondering if this is a bug\incompatibles with my browser or if I am suffering from some other issue. Please can you advise.

    Thanks

    Product: BuildMaster
    Version: 4.4.4

  • IE9 should work fine.

Actually, this sounds network related... when the page is loaded, a dozen or so other requests are made for fonts, images, css, etc.

If these are not displaying as expected, or scripts are acting weird, then it sounds like there's a problem with downloading the additional resources. Use the F12 debug tools, and look a the network tab. You can also use fiddler to monitor traffic.

  • Thanks I will do so.

Another issue - that may or may not be related is that I occasionally get the following in the error log:

SCM-Triggered Automatic Build "Momentus Desktop Build on Checkin" (#2) in application "MomentusDesktop" using "Perforce" provider: Error getting SCM state: System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.IO.IOException: The directory is not empty.

    Another is

SCM-Triggered Automatic Build "Build on Check-in" (#23) in application "SpMessenger" using "Perforce" provider: Error getting SCM state: System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'D:\BuildMaster\_SVCTMP\_SCMTRIG\23\AppSettings\Interfaces' is denied.

    For your information

There are only 2 users - 1 developer and a sign off authority .
We use Perforce as our SCM.
There are about 10 applications of varying size and complexity with autobuilds on check ins.

    Any suggestions?

  • This is separate issue altogether, but it seems to be related to something locking the working directories that Perforce is trying to use.
