Promoting a release cancels all the other releases in a project

We have a project that allows multiple releases. When one of the releases go all the way to production, all the other active releases get canceled. We see a message ""Cancelled by SYSTEM on 5/19/2015 11:32:34 AM, Superceded by 2.0.1". How do we stop this behavior?

Hi Sri, this is a workflow setting; just uncheck the "Leave earlier releases active " on the Post-Release Behaviors on your workflow.

We have quite a few projects where this need to be fixed. Do you see any problem doing the following:
UPDATE dbo.Workflows
SET AutoCancelReleases_Indicator='N'-Sri

That should be OK - just note that this will update all workflows in the system to have this behavior.
