Maximum length for override reason

I entered length of 171 characters in the override reason, it has no response clicking override. But once removed the reason, the override worked. Is 171 characters too long for the reason portion? Is there a maximum length for it?

It appears the limit is 100 characters for that field

I see. Is it possible to leave a reminder of that limit on UI somehow? Like how many characters left that kind?
