Can you let me know the details about SQL collation requirements?

I'm using ProGet with external SQL server with pre-created DB and I couldn't install it until I've re-created DB with "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" collation.

I am trying to deploy an artifact to a linux server. Most of the commands seem not to work since the server is linux and agentless (uses ssh). I am using Build Master 5.7.3. Seems like in an older version there was an FTP command but I can't find that now. Is there something I am missing?

thank you

I want to put ProGet behind a reverse proxy, but also include a BaseUrl because more applications are running on the same hostname. As such I have set the BaseUrl (to https://my.host.name/proget/) under advanced settings, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the generated pages. As such all links and references to stylesheets etc. are broken. Is this supposed to work with the integrated webserver? I also couldn't find a way to configure the integrated webserver to host on http://*:81/proget/, that would probably solve the problem as well.

documentation says:
Web Node Configuration
Any number of servers may be configured as web nodes; to ensure high-availably, at least three nodes are required.

Why are 3 nodes required for high availability as opposed to 2? (I have 2 nodes configured behind a hardware load balancer. Why would that configuration not be considered "highly available"?

I tried setting up BuildMaster today using the latest version. I have used it in other projects before but this time when I configured GIT and tried to test the build process I received the error "The process cannot access the file 'C:\BuildMaster_SVCTMP_E1082_D0.gitignore' because it is being used by another process". I went to the build plan and pulled out everything but the command to clone the bitbucket repository and it still failed with that error. Can someone please tell me what might be going on?

I've used PowerShell to install ProGet Enterprise on two nodes, using a database on a SQL cluster, (same connection string for both nodes), using something like the following:
.\Progetsetup4.7.11.exe /S /Edition=LicenseKey /LicenseKey="<licensekey>" /PackagesPath=\<fileservername>\proget /ConnectionString="Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=False;Initial Catalog=ProGet;Data Source=<sqlservername>" /UseIntegratedWebServer=false /UserAccount=$MyUser /Password=$MyPass /ConfigureIIS /LogFile=C:\Windows\Temp\ProGetInstall.log
I've enabled Load Balancing after configure the same Machine Keys in IIS for both nodes.

When I attempt to enable High Availability, I just get an error:
Error

No servers are active

What am I missing?

I am trying to use the nuget variable to point to a different version of nuget. I have set the path, but my build process is still using the default nuget package and as a result fails. I need to use my newer version and it is getting tiresome to keep copying the files to the temp folders. Do I need to include the variable somewhere for it to fire?

Recently started digging into jetbrains rider, and it seems as if it possibly supports only the nuget v3 urls. Proget at least formerly only supported v2 urls, leaving us at a bit of an impass when it comes to letting our engineers build code with jetbrains rider.

I'm curious if any of the v3 url stuff has been publicizied or there are any plans on supporting the v3 urls in the near future. While I think jetbrains should just support v2 urls, it does feel a bit bad asking them to, when nuget v3 has been around and mostly everything supports it now.

Thanks!

Hi Guys,

A brief question, we have a NuGet Server with Symbol Server Enabled, however, when we upload the ".symbols" package (reading the doc seems that is better to upload just that one), the Symbols don't appear on the left.

I remember seeing that on the left on previous versions of ProGet (and different installation, as well). It seems like ProGet is not recognizing the Symbols. However, if we play around with the "Strip Symbols from Packages" option ProGet does remove the PDB files from the package. Meaning that it "knows" that the Symbol File is there, but does not index it.

Don't know if it's relevant, but accessing the "/symbols/" url gives us a 404. (Which seems to be "as expected" according to several Q&A read).

Thanks in Advance!

After upgrading, I'm able to browse and download packages without first having to authenticate. The Anonymous use does still exist, but it doesn't have permissions assigned to it for 'View & Download Packages.' Thanks.

We just installed a licensed version of the server and we have it running on IIS8 (Windows Server 2012 R2), we have ONLY Windows Authentication set up, and I've got multiple feeds planned. I created a custom Task that has the following permissions to the Feed:

Feeds_AcceptPackagePromotions, Feeds_AddPackage, Feeds_DeletePackage, Feeds_DownloadPackage, Feeds_OverwritePackage, Feeds_PullPackage, Feeds_ViewFeed

I've also set up an API Key at http://MyProGetServer/administration/api-keys
That API Key has Package promotion & Feed API checked on

The Feed has the NuGet API Key set to the API Key I created in the above line

When I do:
nuget.exe push "C:\mynugetpackage.nupkg" TheAPIKeyValue -Source http://MyProGetServer/nuget/MyTargetFeed/

I get the following response:
Failed to process request. 'Method Not Allowed'.
The remote server returned an error: (405) Method Not Allowed..

Am I missing something?

We use a home-grown tool in place of NuGet.exe to install our NuGet packages (because NuGet.exe doesn't allow us to have multiple copies of the same package on the same server). It would be cool if we could report back to the ProGet feed that this package was installed. What triggers a deployment to get recorded in a feed? Thanks.

I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong here but I haven't been able to figure it out.
I'm trying to use PSEval in the following:

set $regExists = $PSEval(Test-Path $regPath);

The reg path being used is like this:

HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Solutions\Interface (node)

When it is run via Powershell directly I get true or false. When I run it via a plan in BM i get the Cannot assign a Vector value to a Scalar variable error.

I've tried variations as well, such as forcing it to string like so:

set $regExists = $PSEval((Test-Path $regPath).ToString());

But that ends up giving an error about Missing closing ')' in expression.
which there isn't one missing.

Navigated to the symbol server URL in a browser and confirmed / followed all of the steps on your custom 404 page. I've configured all the VS settings specifically as mentioned on the custom 404 page. Still having no luck loading symbols. When I browse to the package in the feed, it shows that source and symbols are available and I can click "view" and see the indexed pdb file. Both src files and .pdg are downloaded when I click Download from that same page.

VS is showing the following symbol load information:

SYMSRV: C:\Users\redacted\AppData\Local\Temp\SymbolCache\redacted.pdb\8AA07D8A44496EE83C864487609F24C31\redacted.pdb - file not found
SYMSRV: C:\Users\redacted\AppData\Local\Temp\SymbolCache\redacted.pdb\8AA07D8A44496EE83C864487609F24C31\redacted.pdb not found
SYMSRV: http://nuget.redacted.com/symbols/redacted: not available
http://nuget.redacted.com/symbols/redacted: Symbols not found on symbol server.

Hi
I am using Create Release from Template API to create a new release in BuildMaster. I have defined some package variable in the Release Template to which value is assigned by user when package is created. Here in case of Rest API, i am able to create a new release with release template but when i am passing the package variables to the API using JSON , they are not reflecting in BuildMAster Package. Here is the JSON object:
$CreatePackageParam= @{releaseNumber=$ReleaseNumber;
applicationName=$ApplicationName;
$SiteName=$SiteName;
}
I have prefixed key with $ as mentioned in BuildMaster documentation to pass any number of variables. However it is not working with or without $. Please help how can we pass and consume other variables in Rest API?
