we are getting the following build error during our Integration build on our BuildMaster installation, while trying to retrieve locally-created nugget packages through our ProGet Feed:

C:\BuildMaster\_SVCTMP\_A1010\Src\.nuget\NuGet.targets(89,5): error : Unable to find version '1.24.1' of package 'xxx'.

C:\BuildMaster\_SVCTMP\_A1010\Src\.nuget\NuGet.targets(89,5): error MSB3073: The command ""..\..\.nuget\NuGet.exe" install "C:\BuildMaster\_SVCTMP\_A1010\Src\server\xxx\packages.config" -source "http://xxserver:81/nuget/Default" -NonInteractive -RequireConsent -solutionDir "..\..\ "" exited with code 1.

the Proget Feed contains 2 connectors (1 for a private feed and one for the official nugget source). We can access the feed page with a browser and with our development IDE - its only the buildmaster build that is failing...and it only seems to be the private feed packages which are causing a problem...

What is the proper way to access a feed with credentials in Visual Studio without a roaming user profile?

MyGet allows you to pop in the URL and asks you for credentials when you try to access it either through "Package Manager Console" or though "Manage NuGet Packages for Solution...". Is this possible with ProGet?

Thank you in advance, I thought I might get better support if I restructured my question.

We host the recently released Microsoft Immutable Collections 1.0.12-beta pacakge ( on out ProGet server.
When we try to download it we using the NUGET VS extension, we get an Internal server error.
The previous versions of this package were fine.

We are getting this message when we try to access our buildmaster system. Currently our sysadmin is on holidays. What we can do to try to solve this problem as soon as possible?

We are four persons using the system: there's one person who can promote deployments to different environments, another one who configures the system and two developers who use buildmaster with read only access.

Is there a way to customize the subject line in a notifier email? In our legacy build system, we send out emails at the end of a build with SUCCEEDED or FAILED prominently displayed in the subject line, so you can see at a glance what the status is, saving you in many cases from having to read the body of the email itself.

I know BuildMaster supports the typical custom software development scenario in which developers are producing applications that run on databases, etc. However, could BuildMaster support the deployment of commercial, off the shelf (COTS) software configurations? For example, could we use it to track deployments of Microsoft Dynamics CRM across different environments? Or Dynamics AX? In this scenario, we aren't deploying CRM or AX itself, but packages of configuration changes.

Hi, I was wondering if BuildMaster Supports .Net extensions build on .Net 4.5 Framework. I did develop the extension in .Net 4.5 version since its references other binaries built on the same version. Now, when I install it in BuildMaster I got an error.

What that error means? I keep seeing this at registration page.

keep getting this error when running my mspec test in gallio.

I want to send a message with the compare report in it.

How can I send the comparison report of a build in a message?

I am running ProGet 2.1.4.

I have a feed named "default". The feed is configured to enable symbol/source server. When I browse into the URL that proget specifies as the symbol server URL, I get a "Request handler not found (404)" error with following details:

/symbols/default does not map to any handlers...

I'm working on a execution plan that needs to start a process remotely on one of our servers. This process is intended (among other tasks) to monitor some server activity, so needs to be visible for anyone looking at the computer screen.

When I execute the command (this is just an example):

Start-Process "notepad.exe"

I found looking at the task manager that the process have been started correctly, but it's not a windowed instance, it's hidden.

Any solutions?

Thanks in advance.

How do you put a carriage return / line feed character into a variable?

I would like to send out an email listing the components that have been deployed (not all components are in each release), eg:

This release consists of:

  • Client
  • Server
  • etc

I populate a variable for each item that I deploy, eg:

CLIENT_MSG = * Server configuration build

And set the message body as follows:
This release consists of:

Unfortunately the <br> is not valid. I could just put each variable on a separate line but I would end up with a empty lines for those components not included... Not a big deal but if there is an easy way to get around this.

I am trying to add an Oracle database provider for my application in Buildmaster.

The connection string to the Oracle database. The standard format for this is:

DATA SOURCE=myServerAddress; USER ID=myUsername; PASSWORD=myPassword

I tried the following ways:

DATA Source=<value from tnsnames.ora>;USER ID=<myusername>;PASSWORD=<mypassword>;

Gave me an error:

An unexpected error occurred while attempting to connect. ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

DATA Source=<server ip:port:servicename>;USER ID=<myusername>;PASSWORD=<mypassword>;

Gave an error
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

DATA Source=@<server ip:port:servicename>;USER ID=<myusername>;PASSWORD=<mypassword>;

Gave an error

An unexpected error occurred while attempting to connect. ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

I am able to connect to the required Oracle through SQL Plus. So the value in tnsnames.ora in Oracle is correct.

What am I missing?

Repro steps:

  • upload a package to ProGet default feed
  • execute the following command:

NuGet.exe delete TestPackage 1.0.0 <api_key> -Source <nuget_feed_url> -Verbosity detailed

Expected result: if the user has required permissions (Feeds_DeletePackage) the package should be successfully deleted from ProGet

Actual result:

c:\TEMP\test_proget>NuGet.exe delete TestPackage 1.0.0 <api_key> -Source <nuget_feed_url> -Verbosity detailed

TestPackage 1.0.0 will be deleted from the '<nuget_feed_url>'. Would you like to continue? (y/N) y

Is there a way we can set up a template that can easily be copied for new applications that we add.

All our projects are more or less the same and require almost identical workflows and steps. Currently you allow "copy action group" but is there a way you can "copy workflow step"?

Some of our deployment actions in BuildMaster may output warning messages in the log files. Is there any way of having BuildMaster notify users that these warnings exist?

Mostly they are items that should be double checked manually but are not things that should fail the build and prevent the deployment from completing.

After deleting a package using the web gui, the feed cannot be displayed anymore until the webserver is restarted.

ProGet will just keep on displaying the "Loading" screen, and sometimes a red "unexpected error" message.

I'm finding that with Nuget 2.7 that some packages can't be found on ProGet when 2.6 works fine. I have a Wireshark trace if you are interested. I'm not sure whose issue it is, your's or Nuget's.
