Hi guys,

I am trying to install some extensions(svn, Jenkins, TFS) to get started in BuildMaster.

However it seems some issue happens:
A WebException occurred when attempting to load extension components XML: The operation has timed out

I wonder where can I go for more detail about this error to figure out how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

We would like to use the bower feed for storing private and public bower packages. As bower is mainly only a wrapper around a git url, we would like to have a caching mechanism for third party git repositories, so that in case the public git repo is offline the content gets delivered thru proget.

As I can see private-bower has this feature.

Hello,

I am unable to add git repository to my Buildmaster application. I provide ssh://git@gitlab.xxx (company's own hosted gitlab server). I have added the ssh key and tested via command line on server and I am able to clone the repo without problems from command line. Buildmaster is running on Win2012 server. You documentation about how to set up git repo is a redirect back to http://inedo.com/buildmaster/extensions/git (where link to "howto integrate" is posted).

Thank you,
Milan

Hello everyone,

we use ProGet as our internal NuGet server and have been very happy with it so far. Since we recently also started up a few small Java projects in the team we decided to give ProGet's Maven support a try.

Unfortunately, we've been running into quite a few issues with pushing artifacts to ProGet using "mvn deploy":

If the build process produces multiple files, e.g., the main JAR, a JavaDoc JAR and checksum files ProGet will only keep the last file to be pushed. In our case this caused ProGet to return a checksum file when the main JAR was requested.

When pushing snapshot builds ProGet seems to expect the JAR file to be named like *-SNAPSHOT.jar rather than the automatically generated *-SNAPSHOT-timestamp.jar.

Are these scenarios simply unsupported by ProGet so far or are we running into some kind of bug or configuration issue?

Bastian

We have BuildMaster set up to build automatically from TFS on check-in, and this works great most of the time. Just recently we were testing some application moves into Build Master and the programmer failed to include some items in the project on the migration.

The automatic build from BuildMaster showed [Completed] and the log shows the TFS build completed, but looking at the Build Controller in TFS it is very clear that the build did not complete!

The error in the TFS Build Controller is simply that a referenced DLL is missing on the Build Server, in this case OpenXML, because the developer failed to include it. Of course, the developer assumed it was working based on the Success in BuildMaster.

Shouldn't this error carry across and fail the build/promotion?

The Problem exists with the V.3.7.4.4 and the V.3.8.1.10

Any idee to solve the problem?

Hi,

We have included .pdb files along with .dll in NuGet package. After upgrading to ProGet 3.8.1, we were unable to download the NuGet package correctly(i mean with .dll & .pdb). Instead, we are getting only .dll.
Somehow the latest version of ProGet is filtering .pdb files.

Can some one tell me how to bypass this filter. I should be able to download NuGet package with .dll & .pdb while using "Nuget.exe install" command.

Let me know if you need more info on this.

Thanks

Hi,

we are using free edition of proget, due to which we cant make use of 'Delete old versions' option under "Create Feed Retention Rule".
What is the best way to cleanup a feed for free edition users? is there any script that we can use?

Thanks

I tried adding a connector to the Default feed for the new NuGet 3.x endpoint "https://api.nuget.org/v3/index.json" that is also already used in Visual Studio 2015.
It was actually released the same day as VS2015.
This doesn't seem to work in ProGet: no packages are listed in the feed.
When do you expect to have support for NuGet 3.x ?

The architecture was redesigned, there's even a new nuget protocol version.
I'm mainly interested because it would have much better performance.

We upgraded to BM version 4.8.3 (Build 9) on Saturday 9/12/15 and have seen some issues with deployments hanging after the upgrade. Some of our deployments appear to be hanging for 15 minutes or more before deployment steps are executed. This problem is not consistent so we are trying to nail down the cause of the issue. We think it might be related to when the BM server tries to talk with agents on servers that have been shutdown ... but that is just a working theory. It might also be the agent upgrades after the server upgrade ... perhaps there is a problem with the new BM client version? In any case deployments which typically would complete in less than 30 seconds are now running as long as 17 minutes or more. We saw there is a new release but it doesn't appear to contain a fix for the type of issues we are seeing. We would appreciate any info or guidance you can provide on this problem. Are there troubleshooting steps we can follow to find out what is causing the delay.

After the container has been running for a while it stops allowing me from accessing the settings page, returning this error:

If I restart the container everything is working fine again. I have not been able to find any pattern rather than that the container works when I restart it but then eventually this issue happens.

Pushing/Getting packages still works as expected.

Hi,
I really appreciate the updated UI and the updates regarding user directories!

Background

We have two domains accessible through different forests:

ourdomain.local

x.ourdomain.y

I successfully added privileges to groups in the local domain:
developers@ourdomain.local

After switching user directory to 'Active Directory with Multiple Domains'
I can log in using any user in the group when I provide the FQDN using forms-authentication.

So far so good!

Problem

The problem is with windows authentication. When I enable integrated authentication IIS identifies me as:
user@ourdom (should be user@ourdomain.local)

The problem is probably in our setup but since my identity contains the domain name in short form it doesn't match any of the principal names... Is this solvable?

Kind regards,

Hasse

I've added the Git extension and connected to our BitBucket repository. When I try to perform an action to get the latest source through BuildMaster, I receive a dialog window that shows the repository, I click on it, it lists all of the branches it sees correctly, but when I click on a branch (e.g. master), I receive an error "ERROR: fatal: Invalid refspec 'master'". I've tried restarting both BuildMaster services but nothing I try seems to fix the issue.

The Test Connection function in the Git extension passes correctly and when I look in the installation directory I'm able to see that BuildMaster has pulled down my source correctly.

Please advise.

Hi,

I'd like to trigger a test runner (SoapUI REST API testing) after BM completes a deployment. I can set it up where BM start the testrunner by running a command in powershell script. Once the testrunner finishes and generates JUnit-Style reports, is it possible to have BM to interpret the results and send out notifications? What is the best practice solution for this scenario? Sales team at SoapUI suggested we can use JUnit extension for this purpose. I installed it in our BM but not sure what to do with it next. Please advise. Thanks,
Alex

I have created new feed and added a connector (which is feed from another Proget resource). I do not see a download all package (which pulls packages to proget) option next to connector.

This option is available in 3.1.7 (Build3)
