Rename File via CIFS share

  • Receive below error after attempting to use "Rename Files" via CIFS share.
For Example ... "In directory: \xxxx\xxx\xxx" not C:\xxx

Is use of CIFS shares allowed with use of "Rename Files"? Any suggestions or work around?

  • Hi Dan,

This is a privileges error coming from Windows; in this case, the user that the BuildMaster service is running under (default: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM) does not have privileges to write to that share.

You can change the service principal to your own for the time being, and then create a domain account that has sufficient privileges.

  • Successfully changed to use an admin level user account (instead of local system account).

However, SVN extension can no longer connect to repository. Error....

Unable to connect. svn: E120107: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'https://svn.rgis.com/svn/production_apps/PortableSystems'svn: E120107: Error running context: The proxy server returned an error while setting up the SSL tunnel.

Switching back both buildmaster services to local system account, then the SVN connects successfully.

No changes made to the SVN configuration. Works OK when service runs as local system account but errors with run as an admin service account. Any suggestions?

Running on a Window Server 2012 R2 Standard 64-bit OS.

  • Hi Dan,

It sounds like this new issue is related to your new domain account not being able to connect to your svn server through a proxy server.

One thing you can try... log on to the BuildMaster server using this new account, and try to run that same SVN command. It might pop-up an authentication dialog, or something... in which case, you can get better insight into the exact specific problem.
